Search for Jessica Fox’s stolen canoe underway

A C1 boat owned by our Olympic medallist national team paddler Jessica Fox has been reported stolen. The canoe was stolen from the NCE facility at the Penrith Whitewater Stadium and a police report has been filed. A search launched on social media is currently underway for the boat.

Jessica Fox is currently in Spain, but is due to return to Australia for training in May. The boat is highly specified and customed made for Fox and it is crucial for her training and World Cup season preparation that the boat is returned. The design of the boat is specific to Fox’s needs and can be identified even if it has been painted.

“I am coming home early May and really need it to train as I don’t have another C1. These are very hard to get in Australia as they come from Europe and it is very specific – made for me for competition! So the person who has taken it will not be able to use it, and won’t be able to sell it as it is specifically used for slalom. It is silver checkered carbon with Vajda stickers on the front and Toyota branding and J FOX on the side,” Fox posted on social media.

There is a reward for the return of the boat and if anyone has some information on the whereabouts of the boat, please contact Sara.latham@canoe.org.au +61 449 110 369 asap.
